On 2nd April 2015, Al Shabaab gunmen stormed Garissa University College opening fire on anyone that was within the reach of bullets fired from their guns.
148 people died but some survived to tell the tale. Among those survivors is Maureen Manyengo, the girl who was seen in viral photos wearing a night dress as she was being escorted to safety by a KDF soldier.
Months later after the incident, news broke that Maureen had got married to the savior KDF soldier who rescued her.
But the 21-year-old Maureen told Campus Vibe a TOTALLY different story contrary to media report that she fell heads over heel in love with the KDF soldier who saved her.
Yes Maureen recently got married to a KDF soldier but not the one who whisk her away from danger at Garissa University College.
The lass exchanged vows her husband Ivan Okello, who is also a KDF soldier. She revealed she had been dating her Prince Charming even before Al Shabaab gunmen attacked Garissa University College.
She however said she rushed to exchange vows with Okello following the terror attack as she felt secured around him.
